Terms and Conditions
The terms governing your use of this website and the plastering work we carry out.
Last updated 20 August 2026
Welcome to sydneygyprockmasters.com.au (the "Website"). By using this Website, or by engaging Sydney Gyprock Masters Pty Ltd to carry out work, you agree to the terms set out below. If you have a question about any of them, contact us on 02 8609 9389, Monday to Saturday, 7am to 5:30pm, or by email at info@sydneygyprockmasters.com.au.
Acceptance of these terms
Using this Website means accepting these terms. We may amend them from time to time without prior notice, and the date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. The terms that apply to a job are the ones in force when the quote for it was issued.
Website content
The information on this Website is general in nature and is provided in good faith. We work to keep it accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is complete, free of error, or suitable for your particular property. Descriptions of services, timeframes, prices and coverage areas are indicative and may change. Nothing on this Website is a binding offer to supply.
Any price shown on this Website is a starting figure for straightforward work of that type and is not a quote. The price for your job is the one in the written quote we send you.
Quotes and estimates
Quotes are free and carry no obligation. A quote is based on the information you give us, which for most jobs means floor plans or photographs rather than an inspection, and on anything we observe if we do attend. Unless we say otherwise, a quote is valid for 30 days from the date it is issued.
Because plans and photographs cannot show what is inside a wall or above a ceiling, a quote prepared from them assumes the structure behind the surface is sound and is what it appears to be. Where it is not, the clause below on variations applies.
Access and site conditions
You are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the work area at the agreed time, and for telling us in advance about anything that may affect the work, including concealed electrical, plumbing, gas or communications services, and any known structural, damp or pest problem.
If we attend and cannot carry out the work because access was not available or the site was not safe to work in, an attendance fee may apply. Where the work involves an existing building, you confirm that you either own the property or have the owner's authority to have the work carried out. For work in a strata scheme, obtaining any owners corporation approval that is required is your responsibility unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
Asbestos and other hazardous materials
We do not remove, disturb or dispose of asbestos in any quantity, and we do not carry out mould remediation. In a building constructed before the late 1980s, material behind or around what we are working on may contain asbestos, and it cannot be identified reliably by looking at it.
If we encounter material we suspect contains asbestos, we will stop work in that area immediately, tell you, and not resume until the material has been dealt with by an appropriately licensed removalist and the area has been cleared. We can recommend a removalist, but we do not engage or supervise one on your behalf and we are not responsible for their work. Any delay or additional cost arising from that process is not a breach of these terms by us, and the variations clause below applies to the work that follows.
Materials
Unless the quote says otherwise, we supply the plasterboard, cornice and jointing compounds for the job, and their cost is included in the quoted price. Where a job requires a specialist board, such as wet area lining, fire rated board or acoustic sheeting, we will say so in the quote.
Where materials are delivered to your property ahead of the work, you are responsible for their security and for keeping them dry from the time of delivery.
What is not included
We do not paint. Walls and ceilings are finished, sanded and left ready for the prime coat, and painting is a separate trade you engage yourself. We also do not carry out waterproofing membranes, passive fire sealing of service penetrations, ornamental or run in place fibrous plaster cornice, or traditional wet and solid plastering. Where a job needs any of those, we will tell you before we quote.
Variations
Where the work actually required differs from what was quoted, for example because of concealed damage, a structure that is not what the plans showed, restricted access, or a fault that only becomes apparent once work begins, we will contact you to discuss it before proceeding. A variation may change both the price and the completion date. We do not carry out varied work without your agreement.
Payment
Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, payment is due on completion of the work. Invoices are issued in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable. On larger installations a deposit may be required before materials are ordered.
Title to any materials we supply remains with us until payment has been received in full. Risk in those materials passes to you on installation.
Cancellations and rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please tell us as early as you can. Cancellation at short notice may incur a fee where materials have already been ordered or delivered, or where the work was booked in and the time cannot reasonably be filled.
Workmanship warranty on installation work
Installation work carries a 12 month workmanship warranty from the date the work is completed. If a fault arises within that period and is attributable to our workmanship, we will rectify it at no cost to you. Installation work means new plasterboard supply and installation, including new homes, renovations, ceilings, linings, and cornice installation.
The warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, or damage caused by misuse, accident, storm, flood, water ingress, power surge, vermin, building movement, or alteration or repair carried out by others.
It also does not cover cracking that results from normal seasonal movement of the building. Some movement is expected in every building, particularly on reactive clay soils, and it is not a defect in the plastering.
Repair work
The 12 month workmanship warranty above applies to installation work and does not extend to repairs. This is because a repair is carried out on an existing structure whose condition and history we did not create and often cannot fully assess, and because a repair frequently addresses a symptom whose underlying cause, such as an active leak, ongoing movement or a failure in another trade's work, is outside what we have been engaged to fix.
Where we identify a cause we believe will make the repair fail again, we will tell you before carrying out the work, and where we can we will put it in writing.
This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. All work we carry out, including repairs, comes with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded, including that it will be provided with due care and skill and will be fit for the purpose you told us about. Those guarantees apply regardless of anything in this section.
Materials and manufacturer warranties
Materials we supply carry the warranty offered by their manufacturer, which may run for longer or shorter than our workmanship warranty and is subject to that manufacturer's own terms. Where a manufacturer warranty applies, we will help you make a claim under it.
Statutory warranties
Where the work we carry out is residential building work to which the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW) applies, the statutory warranties under that Act apply and nothing in these terms limits them.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of income, loss of use or loss of opportunity, arising from the work we carry out or from your use of this Website.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.
Intellectual property
All content on this Website, including text, photographs, graphics, logos and page layout, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by copyright. You may view and print pages for your own personal use. You may not reproduce, republish or distribute any part of this Website for any other purpose without our written permission.
Plans, drawings and photographs you send us remain yours. We use them only to price and carry out your job, and we will not publish them or use them in any advertising without asking you first.
Privacy
Personal information you provide through this Website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and Sydney Gyprock Masters Pty Ltd each submit to the non exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
